| The
hotel |
Safari Spa Polo is more a guesthouse than a hotel. It has
an ideal location very near the base of Mount Meru and on clear days you
can see Mt Kilimanjaro from the rooftop terrace in the main building. As the name says, the owners are keen polo players. They
have their own stables and polo field on the premises. The whole place is
like being on a farm in the mountains, it is stunning. The gardens are in
immaculate condition with horses roaming around. The owners also run a
health hydro from the farm where guests can relax and get rid of all the
city stress. The rooms are scattered individually in the garden and a renovated barn
serves as the bar and restaurant area. The food is fantastic done in the
way you would expect from a farm. They have a cosy fireplace upstairs
where you can sit and relax. There is no real pub area, but drinks will be
served to you in the lounge area. Unfortunately it is very expensive.

| The
rooms |
The rooms are beautiful and very tastefully decorated. All
rooms are individually placed around the garden and furnished in their own
theme. The owners really have that quality touch and have given a lot of
attention to detail. Each room overlooks the pool area and has a small verandah where you
can sit and take in the African sun. That is Mount Meru in the background
of the picture. |
