Dining

The restaurants and bars at the Sofitel Winter Palace are great for relaxing and socializing and the variety of dishes range from French cuisine to traditional Egyptian dishes. The 1886 Restaurant is the premier dining establishment at the Sofitel and they serve dinner only. The restaurant requires a reservation, and jacket with tie is required for the men while nice clothing is required for the women. The El Tarboush is another unique restaurant that features Egyptian cuisine like tagen and breads fresh from the oven. Live folklore music is also provided. The El Nakheel Restaurant serves light meals by the pool as well as snacks. The cuisine is regional. The La Corniche Restaurant is a very intimate and elegant establishment and they serve breakfast as well as an ala carte dinner. And finally, guests can enjoy room service twenty-four hours a day. The Sofitel Winter Palace also has a few bars for guests to enjoy. The Nile Terrace overlooks the Nile River and the West Bank and it is a great place to enjoy high tea and other beverages. The Oasis Bar is a snack bar that is open from 10am to 6pm. The Royal Bar is an elegant English bar that offers cocktails and other snacks in the evening and traditional afternoon tea is served in the bar every day.

Activities

Luxor is one of the most impressive places in Egypt and it is filled with numerous historical monuments for guests to enjoy. It is the home of the Valley of the Kings and Queens and within traveling distance of the Sofitel. Hatshepsut Temple and Medinet Habu Temple are also close by as well as the Luxor Museum and the Mummification Museum.
