Khaudom Game Park
Consists mostly of semi-desert. Access by poor road from Grootfontein or Rundu (Katima Mulilo). Open all year round although access is only permitted to four wheel drive vehicles Animal species living in the park include antelopes, elephants, zebras and a variety of birds.

Mahango Game Reserve
The reserve is open to day visitors only. Accommodation is available at Popa Falls camp.

Waterberg Plateau Park
Consists of savannah and woodland. Access by road from Windhoek or from Otjiwarongo. Animal species living in the park include antelopes, buffaloes, bushbabies, cheetahs, rhinoceros, and more than 100 species of birds.

Caprivi Game Reserve
Access by road from Rundu or Katima Mulilo. Accommodation is available. Animal species living in the park include crocodiles, hippopotamus and a wide variety of birds.

Daan Viljoen Park
Daan Viljoen Park can be reached driving down Sam Nujoma Avenue for 18 kilometres from Windhoek. The park, located amongst hills of Khomas Hochland, was proclaimed in 1962.  The park was named after a former Administrator Mr. D. Viljoen who took a major part in establishing the park. The park is very popular as an alternative place to stay instead of staying in the capital and for day visitors. Several game species can be seen in the park including kudu, red hartebeest, springbok, klipspringer, steenbok, eland and Oryx antelopes, baboons (burglar bars were installed in the kiosk in the vicinity of the restaurant to keep them out), blue wildebeests and giraffes. As there are no predators you are allowed to leave your anywhere in the park. Bird species: helmeted guinea fowl, red billed francolin, yellow billed hornbill, rock runner. More than 200 bird species can be observed in the park. Bird list can be obtained in the park's office.
