Iranja Island, sometimes called "Turtle Island" is located off the southwest coast of Nosy Be Island, and can be reached by either boat or helicopter. The renowned hotelier Fred Faure owns and manages the Nosy Iranja Lodge, so guests are sure to have a spectacular experience.
The island, covered with tropical plants, coconut palm trees, and circled by gorgeous sandy beaches, is one of the most scenic and beautiful places in all of Madagascar. At low tide, the island is connected to a second, smaller island by way of a 1500-meter sandbar that makes for a great walk.
The northern island contains a lighthouse designed by Gustav Eiffel, and a small village that is home to a number of fishermen. 23 beautiful chalets are scattered around the coast of the southern island. The unique layout of these chalets ensures that everyone has a great view of the ocean.
Guests in these chalets will find plenty to absorb them in this island paradise. The island offers great scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities, water skiing, sailing, and excellent fishing for a variety of different game fish such as marlin and swordfish. Nature lovers will find a variety of turtles, crabs, and exotic birds not to mention all the lush plant life.
For those simply wanting to spend a lazy day in the sun sipping a tropical drink, the island is certainly perfect for that as well.
After a day full of activities or sunbathing, guests can dine in the restaurant and grab drinks at the bar as they watch the sun set in this idyllic setting.
The Nosy Iranja Lodge is a perfect place for honeymooners as well as families and vacationing couples who have been married for years. The clear blue water, tropical climate, and gorgeous island setting make the perfect getaway for everyone.
There are a total of 28 chalets, or suites, around the island. 19 are junior double chalets in which one extra single bed can be added, while the other nine are senior chalets that can accommodate two additional single beds.
All chalets have ceiling fans, safes, mini bars, CD players, en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, facilities for making tea and coffee, a dressing room, hair dryer, and razor plug (100/220V).
In addition to the above amenities, all chalets include a private terrace with a garden, ocean view, hammock, chairs, coffee table, and foot showers.
