Nefertiti Package Itinerary

Day 1:
Depart from Johannesburg International Airport bound for Cairo International Airport.

Day 2:
Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Cairo. Here you will spend 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 3:
Today your day is filled with history and wonders. You will visit the great pyramids in Giza and the Sphinx.

Day 4:
Today you will be transferred from Cairo to Alexandria where you will be taken on a full day excursion (Excluding Lunch), visiting the Catacombs, Montazah Gardens and the Alexandria Library. On arrival in Cairo you will be transferred to the train station where you will board your overnight train to Luxor.

Day 5:
Arrival Luxor, transfer from station to the cruise, embarkation and lunch onboard.
Today you board your cruise ship and start your journey down the Nile River on the Presidential Nile or a similar boat. Visit the temple of Karnak and temple of Luxor.

Day 06
Cross the west bank to visit the necropolis of Thebes, Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the colossi of Memnon.
Sail to Esna, cross the lock. Sail to Edfu and overnight.

Day 07
Visit the temple of Horus in Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the temple shared by the two Gods Sobek & Haroeris. Sail to Aswan and overnight

Day 08
Visit of the High Dam, unfinished obelisk and the temple of Philae. Overnight in Aswan.

Day 09:
After breakfast on board you will disembark the boat to enjoy the day at your own leisure in Aswan. In Aswan you can visit the shops, bazaars or even museums. Ask our consultants to tell you about all the activities you can do in Aswan. After visiting the temples in Aswan, you will board your overnight train back to Cairo, staying in 1st class compartments.

Day 10:
You will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo where you will spend 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 12:
You will be transferred to the airport where you will check in for your flight back to Johannesburg.

Train/Flight?

Although a lot of people like going on the trains to experience Egypt please note that the trains are the local trains (Same as South African overnight trains here in South Africa and not Blue Train or Rovos Rail standards). We book the 1st class compartments but they are very basic, the cabins are small, with small wash basin, sharing communal toilet, and the food is very basic. If you are a single person you might be sharing your compartment with somebody else as there must be 2 people per compartment. If you rather want to fly instead of go on the train, the tour will be 2 night shorter and you will have to pay about R660 per person additional on top of the below package price.
