Michamvi Sunset Bay has recently been upgraded and has 20 luxuri-ous junior suites all boasting air-conditioners, ceiling fans, mosquito netting, wall safe, tea and coffee station, hairdryer, desk, sofa with comfortable chairs, coffee table and separate dressing area. The rooms have newly installed luxury wash rooms 16 equipped with walk in double showers and double basins and 4 with baths, single showers and single basin. Each room has either its own private garden or private balcony so guests can laze the day away.
The bar is positioned right on the beach and has comfortable lounge chairs and stools perfect for watching the sun go down. The bar serves a variety of delicious cocktails and guests can watch in awe as the sun goes down behind the bay. Guests can choose to sit in the restaurant to enjoy their freshly prepared meals or can sit in the new Al Fresco lunch eating area where guests can relax in comfort as the waves lap up on the beach nearby.

Just to let you know, I spoke to my client last night, and they had a fantastic time. They had no problems. They enjoyed the hotel and everything. Thanks so much with all your assistance in this, it is highly appreciated.
Your Ground Handler in Zanizbar was excellent. They were waiting for us at the airport upon arrival and gave us an overview of Zanzibar, history, things to do etc on the drive to our hotel. The next day Hoosain (our driver) visited us at our hotel and gave us options for the various day-trips, etc. He was very professional. We used them for the 'Safari Blue' trip and the service was great. Upon our departure he was waiting for us at reception ahead of time. Someone from African Encounters was waiting for us at the airport and he explained the departure process and helped us with bags, finding bathrooms etc!
Zanzibar is a great destination especially for short holidays. I would not go for more than 10 days as you would run out of sights and things to do. Our hotel was FANTASTIC and I would definitely recommend it to those who want personal service, deserted beaches and who do not enjoy the hustle and bustle of large impersonal resorts.
We had a really wonderful time in Zanzibar. Everything went according to plan and the weather was fantastic. We were extremely impressed with the services received from African Encounters. There were no problems with any of the bookings and the help and advice we received was great. Many thanks. Similarily, the transfers by your ground handler in Zanzibar were efficient and always on time. The drivers and guides were extremely pleasant and helpful. We also did a walking tour of Stone Town arranged through the ground handler and found it to be informative and most enjoyable. The Dhow Palace Hotel in Stone Town was also neat and clean and the staff helpful and friendly at all times.
Our stay at Michamvi was so relaxing. We were impressed once again with the accommodation (I believe they are going to be doing a revamp), food and service received from all the staff - from the bar attendants, waiters, room service to Brad, the manager. It was very good value for money, and I would not hesitate recommending it to friends and family.
If we do any further travelling in Africa, we will certainly use your services again as the pricing is competative and the service efficient, easy and helpful.
WOW oh WOW, we had such a great time. From the airport to the Resort and Back again was well organised and profesional. The staff is so friendly and helping 24 hours a day. The resort was beautiful and everyone went out of their way to make it special for us, we even got engaged in Zanzibar so it was very special for us.
Thank you so much for taking us ons this wonderful journey, we will defnitly use African Encounters again for Holiday Destinations.
