3 Metis

Back to accommodation guide

The hotel

In the heart of the "City of the Thousand soldiers", in the beautiful capital of Antananarivo, there is an outstanding traditional house shrouded in history. Built in 1913 by a rich raffia exporter, it hosted the American embassy during colonial times, then the Mines Service, the Bank Union and finally the College of Physicians from the Independence until now.

Fully restored to its original style, respecting the Malagasy architectural art, 3 Metis has become a pretty cozy guest-house where every one is warmly welcomed. Whether your stay in Madagascar starts or ends with them, you will take away happy memories.

The rooms
The decor has been entirely made by local artists and craftsmen. It's a harmonious concoction of mosaic, wood work, ceramics, sculpture, painting and frescos. Rosewood from Tuléar province is the main material used for the interior.

They have 25 rooms (including 2 luxury rooms) are light and spacious, with balconies with unbeatable view of the town or over the private garden with comfortable furnishings.

They are all equipped with a private bathroom, mini-bar, cable TV, safe and telephone.

Dining
Their young and creative kitchen staff can offer you a delicious mixture of the gastronomy from France and the Indian Ocean, and of course all the Malagasy specialities that you relish.
