The hotel has a two storey lobby complete with atrium waterfall, flowers, and seating areas made up of furniture decorated in the flavour of the region complete with Oriental rugs. There are many tour groups and meetings held through the Le Meriden Cairo Pyramids Hotel so individual guests may feel a bit overwhelmed when they are there. The hotel’s meeting facilities is 1,100 square metres of exhibit space and 800 square metres of meeting space. There are three meetings that can be opened up into one large reception hall for up to 1,000 people and a theatre for up to 300.
The hotel is expected to undergo renovations sometime in 2009 which will make construction work part of the overall ambience guests will have to face.
The hotel has the largest number of guest rooms in the entire Giza area – 523 rooms – with the Presidential Suite being the crème de la crème. It has a private reception area, lounge, bedroom, two bathrooms, Jacuzzi, kitchenette with fridge, living area, and dining area for six.
All of the rooms are decorated in regional Egyptian themes with Pharaonic stone reliefs and other adornments on the furniture. One thing visitors to the Le Meridien Cairo Pyramids Hotel do not have to worry about is what they want to eat. The hotel has six selections to choose from. The lobby bar is the Harris Café and it offers guests cakes, pastries, and breads. Al Shams is the coffee shop on the premises and it is open 24 hours a day seven days a week. It offers visitors a buffet featuring Middle Eastern and European cuisines. The Shisha Café offers guests a traditional Egyptian evening and offers drinks and speciality flavoured water pipes – or shishas.
The Laredo is an actual Texas-style steak house that serves their Tex-Mex food in a very relaxed setting. The Med serves Mediterranean cuisine and the restaurant is decorated with hand-painted murals. It is well known in Cairo for its top notch service. Finally the outdoor-indoor Nubian Village offers Oriental, Middle East, and Lebanese dishes.
Being so close to the Pyramids and the historic areas of Cairo, the Le Meridien Cairo Pyramids Hotel offers visitors the best of both worlds.
