L’Archipel Hotel is a contemporary mountain side resort on the second largest island in the Seychelles Archipelago. The hotel is located towards the north east of the island on the Cote D’or Beach. The view from L’Archipel is of the Anse Gouvernment Beach and surrounding islands.
Praslin is 40 kilometers from Mahe Island, the largest of the Seychelles Isles. It is the main island with the capital, Victoria. There are twenty flights from Mahe to Praslin a day. The flight is but fifteen minutes long. The Cat Cocos ferry also has three daily crossings, with a journey of about an hour. The ferry takes visitors over the Indian Ocean to Praslin and thus to L’Archipel Hotel.
Guests of the hotel can enjoy the beach, snorkeling, diving, fishing, and other water sports. They can also take the ferry system or boat charters to other populated islands like La Digue. The islands surround Praslin on the east, west, and south. Whether on Praslin or one of the other islands there is always a marine national park to visit.
There are three types of rooms at L’Archipel Hotel: Executive Suite, Senior Suite, and Chalet. The rooms and suites are surrounded by coconut trees. Each room has an ocean view, with terraces 12 square meters in size. Room service is possible, so that guests could have breakfast on their veranda every day. All told there are 23 rooms at the hotel all with air conditioning, king size beds, and telephones. Tea and coffee makers, mini bar, satellite television, and en- suite bathrooms are included. The bathrooms have showers with two wash stands.
The senior suites have 65 square meters with a lounge area and walk- in wardrobe. These rooms have standard amenities like all others. The executive suites are 120 square meters in size with separate verandas of 17 square meters. There are outlets for fax and internet options. The executive suites have a children’s room.
Two restaurants can be found at L’Archipel Hotel. La Feuille D’or is in the main building close to the swimming pool. They serve dinner at this restaurant. Bonm Ange is a beach restaurant with breakfast buffet and a la carte lunch. The cuisine at both restaurants is based on French delicacies and Creole flavors. Twice a week there is a Creole buffet. At other times the international cuisine brings in other favored dishes.
Between the swimming pool and restaurant is one of the cocktail lounge and bar. It is a place to meet with friends and other guests. The Beach Bar is open from 8am to 6pm daily for those wishing refreshments during sunbathing and swimming. Live entertainment can be found at the bar twice a week.
Praslin Island can be viewed by bike or car. There is also a bus for public transportation. Praslin has plenty of natural wonders such as Vallee de Mai, a national park. Vallee de Mai has coco de mer palm trees, Black Parrots, and a myriad of other vegetation. The forest is located in the central portion of the island. A lot of the vegetation in the park is prehistoric, with natural trails for guests to enjoy.
Anse Lazio is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with its white sand, coastal palm trees, and crystal clear waters. No matter the beach guests wish to go to they will find kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, and scuba diving. The Cote D’or in the west of the island is another beautiful beach to visit for these sporting activities.
Location: L’Archipel Hotel is forty kilometers from Mahe Island, the main isle of the Seychelles. It is a fifteen minute plane ride, and a further ten minutes to the Cote D’or Beach where the hotel is located.
