Serena Beach Hotel |

Mombasa Serena Beach Hotel is one of the classiest hotels on the Mombasa Coast. Beautifully set in stunning gardens with typical Serena character and charm, this is definitely one of our most recommended. It may be a little more expensive than other hotels, but then the quality and location are far superior to what is found elsewhere in Mombasa.
Upon entering the hotel you can feel the charisma that it oozes, with beautifully hand carved wooden furniture and stunning brass ornaments which are found around the place. They even have a parrot in an ancient old wooden bird cage who can speak Swahili.
The living areas are beautifully furnished in an old Mombasa style. As is with most of the Serena hotels, they have a magnificent swimming pool located on the beach front. The hotel also boasts stunning gardens with a multitude of palm trees, water fountains, bougainvilleas and various other tropical looking plants. Their beach is also gorgeous, white sands, palm fringed and stretches on for miles. The only negative about the beach is that there is an abundance of beach boys. If you ignore them, or firmly say no, then they will leave you alone.
Guests are also treated to an array of activities at the hotel which include a full gymnasium, fitness room, 4 floodlit tennis courts, 2 squash courts, free windsurfing and sailing, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and mini-golf.

| The
rooms |
There are a total of 165 rooms, divided into suites, village rooms and garden rooms.
Although less expensive, we prefer the village rooms. They have an old Lamu theme and comprise of individual double storey units scattered around the complex. You have to walk through a narrow alleyway to get to your room, almost exactly as you would find in
Lamu.
The feel of these rooms is just great, as they are luxurious and yet have that old East African style appeal. The Garden rooms are a lot newer and are located on the other side of the property to the Lamu or Village rooms. These rooms are larger and look out on to the gardens. The garden rooms are located in semi detached units of 4 rooms each.
All rooms are luxurious, although the Village rooms may feel a little small to some. The rooms are all en suite and include satellite TV, air conditioners, in room safe, direct dial telephone, mosquito nets on request, modem hook up for your computer, mini bar, hair dryer and lots of
character
