We had again a fabulous stay in Zanzi. The entertainment at night at Karafuu was splendid. The food was good and the sun, sea and accomodation fab. 236 Hurumzi is like a fairy tale, especially the dinner on the rooftop with musicians and dancers. The service of Africanencounters in Zanzi was 100%, seeing the crisis they had to deal with. The only thing that went wrong was Tanzania Airline. But thanks to that, we saw the Kilimanjaro and experienced the excellent service of Kenya Air. Keep well, Myrza

The holiday was just fabulous albeit a little short. The hotel you can definitely recommend to your clients. Facilities, food and the hospitality of staff is just top class. If you are one expecting fancy rooms, you may be a bit disappointed as the superior rooms are not that grand. I would have rather upgraded to the junior suite and would highly recommend this to prospective visitors in future. The reason being that the junior suites are sea facing with lounging facilities on the patio so you can enjoy the ocean view while relaxing on your porch when it is extremely hot. These apartments are few metres from the shore whereas the superior rooms are far back without see views and have a small veranda with a table and 2 chairs. Nevertheless, on a tight budget the superior rooms are not bad at all if you don’t mind a minute walk to the shore and no view of the sea. The hotel does not have tv facilities in the rooms but does have a communal tv in the lounge area. But then again, who wants a tv when you on an island and have beautiful water to enjoy. I believe that they will have tv’s in the rooms within the next 3 months. Snorkelling and diving are big in Zanzibar so a traveller must take these with. Its almost 30 dollars to hire it there so better to take it from here. You can believe the pictures on the internet because the water is truly crystal clear. I took photos of small fish that are absolutely clear just by standing and looking in so the water is that clear. Generally the beach area is very rocky. Karafuu have built a wall into the ocean which their guests can walk on to get past this rocky patch which is really cool. Lots of people even snorkel in this area and you can see a lot of small fish. Unlike many hotels, Karafuu have a machine to cleanse their water which is a good thing for foreigners although we still preferred to stick to bottled water. I would definitely recommend full board to any visitor because the cost of drinks and food is very high. A simple non-alcoholic cocktail will cost you almost 4 dollars and almost 3 dollars for a coke to get an idea so the all inclusive option was our best choice. There are no vending machines or stores close by to buy snacks so you have to face the high charges of the hotel if you don’t take the all inclusive option. You could get cheap snacks in Stone Town but it will take about 1 hour by taxi just to get there so that’s not much of an option either. Overall, this holiday destination was a great choice and we really enjoyed it. If I had to do it over, I would stay at least 1 week because there are lots of tours, both 1 day or half day and going to Zanzibar for 4 days just limits opportunities to explore all that the island has to offer. Thank you for all your effort to get this arranged for us on short notice and in view of our indecisiveness. Kind regards

Trust you are well. We are back from a very relaxing and destressing trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip, the hotel was good, food excellent, safari blue (entire day of water sport) excursion was unforgettable and great value for money. The people of zanzibar are truly hospitable. A wonderful and highly recommendable break away from the rat race of everyday life. Thank you Regards Ahmed Kolabhai Tell us about your experience | ||||||||
