Eden Villas

Mahe Island is part of the 115 Islands that make up Seychelles.  The Seychelles are northwest of Madagascar off the coast of Africa, presenting plenty of tropical accommodations, activities, and fun for a family or couple looking for a romantic retreat.  Eden Villas run along the northwest coast of Mahe in a small fishing village called Port Glaud.  It is more than twenty minutes from Victoria and the international airport, though the trip is quick and the scenery beautiful.  Welcoming you to Eden Villas are the palm trees, private garden, and bay of Port Launay.

Port Launay is also home to one of the three Mahe Island marine national parks.  The other two national parks are Baie Ternay and Ste. Anne.  It is possible to cruise to these other national parks, or just to spend your vacation days around Port Launay Marine National Park to see underwater reefs and marine life.  Mahe Island is known for their rare plant species and varied bird species.  Eden Villas are perfectly located on the island to offer relaxation at an affordable family resort.

Rooms

Eden Villas has 10 furnished villas that are spread over the hillside.  Each villa offers views of the bay of Port Launay, with private gardens and beach access.  The villas are air conditioned with television, fridge, safe, and fully equipped kitchens.  Self catering is part of the package, though it is possible to hire a cook for breakfast and dinner.  There are 2 one bedroom villas, 6 one bedroom villas with full kitchens, and 2 two bedroom/ two bathroom villas with kitchens.

Dining

Barbeque grills are available at no extra cost for families wishing to create their own meals.  The open plan restaurant has Creole and International cuisine for those who want to order breakfast or dinner during their trip.  Dinner does have to be ordered in advance and is served at the main restaurant, with a view of the beach.

Activities

Leisure activities abound at Eden Villas including nature walks, snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming, scuba diving, and water sports.  The nature walks provide a tour of the beach and surrounding area in which visitors can learn about the flora and fauna of Mahe Island.  During the walks it is possible to reach Port Glaud waterfall or the downtown section of the village for some shopping.

Guests who want a little more from Mahe Island can sign up for city tours to be taken around Victoria, the capital city of Mahe.  During a city tour visitors will learn about the various cultures that have or are living on Mahe Island.  Buildings, points of interest, and historical artifacts are included on island tours.  For guests who love to cruise around in boats Eden Villas can set up a boat charter.

The boat charter offers the Mary Mary for a cruiser yacht that is over 15 meters in length.  The interior of the cruiser is Italian polished burr wood, leather seating, and teak flooring.  There are cabins with annexed bathrooms, television, and music.  Ten people can be booked on the Mary Mary for a per day trip or overnight charter.  The charter can include lunches and dinners for a cost.  The Mary Mary will take visitors around Port Launay Marine National Park for an informative adventure.  Guests can snorkel or dive from the boat from the swim platform.  Longer trips can bring visitors to Ste. Anne Marine National Park, which includes six islands and numerous picnicking spots.
