Dolphin Bay Resort

The newly launched Dolphin Bay Resort formerly the Zanzibar Dolphin View Paradise Resort is located on the south east of Zanzibar in Kizimkazi which is a famous area for dolphin watching. It was designed with the international traveler in mind and guests who have stayed here are already giving the resort great reviews. The resort offers guests an authentic Zanzibari atmosphere without skimping on modern comforts. The lodge and other public buildings are laid out in a pentagram construction, making them easy to navigate and very inviting.

Dolphin Bay Resort offers guests not only a beautiful resort to stay at but also many amenities guests may not expect to find at a resort on Zanzibar. Even though it is considered a boutique hotel it offers all of its visitors the amenities one would find at a large hotel chain. Within the lodge itself guests can find a business center, game area, conference room, lounge and bar and boutique. And that is all without mentioning the infinity swimming pool that faces the ocean. When guests arrive, they are presented with a welcome drink and a personal escort to their villa.

Dining

Guests to the Dolphin Bay Resort will enjoy the wide range of menu options at their different restaurants. The Barracuda serves a buffet breakfast and dinner as well as a la carte lunches and dinners. The dinner buffets feature a different theme every night.

In addition to the restaurants at the resort there are two bars. The Reef Bar is located at the pool and main lodge area, offering guests cocktails and other refreshments.

The Jetty bar overlooks the Indian Ocean; here you can casually kick back with a refreshing cocktail or a cold beer. An ideal place to relax, sunbath and enjoy our seafood delicacies. If you are lucky you can spot dolphins swimming nearby and in august to September you may spot hump back whales.

Rooms

The Dolphin Bay Resort offers guests 30 villas that are equipped with authentic Zanzibari furniture and decorations. Each of the villas is equipped with three bed rooms that accommodate up to six people. All of them come with wireless internet, safe, satellite color flat screen television, en-suite bathroom with bathtub, two sitting rooms, storage area, veranda on both floors, sea views, and garden views. The beach front villas include a private plunge pool. The villas are constructed with white walls, Makuti roofs and terracotta flooring.

Activities

The location of the resort is somewhat remote but that does not mean guests still cannot enjoy everything the island of Zanzibar has to offer. Day trips around the island can be arranged. There are many beaches with lagoons and coral reefs to explore as well as scuba diving in some of the best unexplored waters in the world. The waters are filled with dolphins and guests can take dolphin spotting tours where they may even be able to swim with them. Some of the historic sites include Stone Town, Jozani Forest, Mbweni Ruins, Mtoni Ruins, Kijichi Persian Baths and the Maruhubi Ruins. Guests will also enjoy visiting the local village and or walk around the peninsula on the ‘Sunset Walk’ paved trail. The Spice Tour is also highly recommended, showcasing the islands most famous trade.

In addition to tours, water sports and historical sites, guests to the Dolphin Bay Resort can relax by the swimming pool or in their private plunge pool, enjoy the tropical scenery or enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the spa.
