Diamond Dreams of Zanzibar Resort

Diamond Dreams of Zanzibar Resort is an all inclusive five star resort located on the exotic island of Zanzibar off of the African coast.  The resort is situated on the north eastern side of the island right on the Kiwengwa beach where guests can bury their toes in the sand as they sit and watch the water come and go.  Located about 45 kilometers from Stone Town and the International Airport, this beautiful resort is a mix of contemporary and local Afro-Arabic design that is reminiscent of palaces of yesterday.

The resort’s all inclusive package includes the following services that guests will enjoy when they stay at this little piece of paradise: breakfast, lunch and dinner; all beverages and snacks; afternoon tea, coffee and pastries; and sun loungers with parasols so that guests can relax by the pool.

Zanzibar is actually a part of an archipelago off of Tanzania, Africa.  It has a long trading history and Stone Town is considered a world heritage site with plenty of historical attractions that appeal to the guests to the island.  The island has always been known for its spice trade and guests to the resort will love the spice tour.  Zanzibar is still referred to as the Spice Islands due to the large amount of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper that is still grown there.  In addition to the beautiful scenery and historical sites, Zanzibar is also the endemic home of the Zanzibar Red Colobus and the Zanzibar Leopard.

Guests should be aware that Zanzibar falls in the malaria area of Africa and that they should consult their doctor before visiting.  It is a good idea for guests to also be vaccinated against yellow fever and they should bring their vaccination certificate with them.

Rooms

Guests to the resort will enjoy the 157 elegantly appointed rooms and the amenities that are equipped within them.  All of the furniture was handcrafted from elm wood by experienced Italian designers and each room comes equipped with a king size bed or European twin size beds.  There are 64 deluxe garden rooms, 40 deluxe sea facing rooms and 40 junior suite sea view rooms.  These rooms all share the communal swimming pool with its children’s area and bar.  There are also 10 junior suites with ocean views and Jacuzzis as well as 3 royal suites that have their own private sea views, Jacuzzis, swimming pools and butler service.

The rooms are equipped with the following amenities: king or European twin size bed; mosquito netting; en-suite bathroom with walk in shower; private terrace with table and chairs; air conditioning; ceiling fan; IDD telephone; wireless internet access; satellite television; DVD player; CD player; stocked mini bar; coffee and tea making facilities; digital safe; hairdryer; and shaver plug point.

Dining

Guests to the Diamond Dreams Of Zanzibar have a unique opportunity to sample some of the most fantastic cuisine imaginable.  With meals being part of the all inclusive package, guests can try new dishes and local cuisines every night of their stay.  The Cape to Venice Brasserie is the resort’s main dining establishment.  They serve a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet indoors and outdoors and the fare is international cuisine that features local dishes, sashimi, sushi and more.  There are theme nights planned on a weekly basis.

The Andiamo Pizza Food Company is a great place to go when you want something lighter to eat.  They serve freshly made pizza, fish and meat cooked on the grill and Tandoori oven cooking.  Salads, desserts, snacks with wine, beer, soft drinks and fruit juices are also available.  The Blue Vanilla ala carte restaurant offers guests seafood and fusion dishes with cocktails.  They are only open for dinner.  The resort also has its own Boma.  Called the Boma and Chop Sticks Restaurant, guests are treated to regional and local African dishes in a traditional boma setting while ‘Chop Sticks’ serves Asian Noodle and Rice specialties.

The Kokosnuss Bar and the Mama Pawpaw Bar are both located around the beach offering guests a wide variety of snacks and drinks through the day, afternoon tea and cakes, and a wide range of cocktails in the evening.  The Le Souk Bar is located in the Kasbah square of the resort and they serve sundowners, after dinner drinks, oriental tea, coffee, nargili, snacks and pastries.

Activities

Guests who visit the resort can enjoy a wide variety of activities that will make their stay more enjoyable.  The hotel offers boat excursions, sightseeing tours, safaris in Tanzania, deep sea fishing, snorkeling trips to Mnemba Marine Park and diving activities at their water sports center.  Catamaran trips, windsurfing and canoeing are also available at the water sports center.

For those guests who do not do well on the water, the hotel offers many daily activities including a full service gym, and beach activities with the animation team including beach volleyball, beach soccer, bicycles, tennis courts, multi-sport courts and a jogging trail.  The resort also has a beautiful swimming pool for guests to use that includes a children’s area, and access to the island’s white sand beaches.  Indoor activities include darts, billiards, table tennis and a Nintendo Wii.  Guests are welcome to also enjoy the services at the MVUA African Rain Spa facility for an additional charge.  There is also evening entertainment available at the resort that includes live music, traditional African shows and karaoke nights.

The island of Zanzibar also offers guests a wide variety of activities and historical attractions to view.  There are many beaches with lagoons and coral reefs to explore as well as scuba diving in some of the best unexplored waters in the world.  The waters are filled with dolphins and guests can take dolphin spotting tours where they may even be able to swim with them.  Some of the historic sites include Stone Town, Jozani Forest, Mbweni Ruins, Mtonil Ruins, Kidichi Persian Baths and the Mruhubi Ruins.  Some of these activities are at an additional charge.

Dreams of zanzibar

Hi Faz

Everything was awesome thanks. Our ground handler were very friendly and helpful; and all the hotels were great!

DOZ was great- lots of activities on offer and we even joined in with some morning water aerobics the one day. Food was good- and we tried Andiamo for pizza the one night and Chopsticks for an Asian set menu on our last night. Nice to have some variety with different restaurants on offer J Their service is a bit slack at times (could be English isn’t their strong point) but we had to ask 3 times for our minibar to be stocked and just generally, they don’t seem to be very quick in offering their service to you. We had a Junior Suite which was stunning- nice and spacious, plus we were closer to the pool and restaurants J

Safari Blue was awesome!! We saw a whole lot of dolphins and had so much fun snorkeling and swimming in the sea J Such great scenery and the beach where you stop for lunch is stunning! I loved the dessert they served on Safari Blue- a wide selection of fruits- Jack Fruit, baobab seeds, star fruit and so much more! I ate until I burst!! Was the perfect way to spend our last day in Zanzibar J

Thanks for all your help with sorting out the itinerary and flights- really appreciate it Faz!!

Xoxoxo
