Coral Strand Hotel is located on Mahe Island, the largest island of the Seychelles. It lies to the northeast, with Victoria as its capital city. Mahe’s tallest mountain is Morne Seychellois at 905 meters nestled in Morne Seychellois National Park. Much of the northern and eastern sections of the island are heavily populated, not only with homes but also hotels. The Coral Strand Hotel can be found 20 minutes from Seychelles International Airport, which is located towards the north eastern section of Mahe. The Island offers Baie Ternay Marine National Park, Ste. Anne Marine National Park, and Port Launay Marine National Park.
The Coral Strand Hotel offers 130 rooms with three sizes. You can choose the Standard, Superior Family, or two-level Duplex rooms. Many of the rooms provide sea or mountain views. The Standard Rooms are 21 square meters with bathtub/ shower combinations, water closet, international telephone, electronic personal safe, radio, hair dryer, and air conditioning.
The Superior Family rooms are 42 square meters and ideal for visitors with children. The Superior Duplex Rooms and Superior Family Rooms have television, coffee/ tea, and the aforementioned amenities also found in the standard rooms. The Superior Duplex Rooms have a private seating area for more comfort.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be found at the Coral Strand Hotel. There are five restaurants/ bars to dine at. The Island Trader offers high ceilings and views of the Indian Ocean for guests eating a meal. The Breakfast Buffet runs from 7:00am to 10:00am. Evening meals are from 19:00pm to 22:00pm, with a buffet style. Mahek is an Indian cuisine restaurant providing dinner from 19:00pm to 21:45pm.
The Pool Bar is next to the pool in a one story bar with views of the ocean and wonderful sunsets. Drinks and various cocktails are provided from 11:00am to 23:45pm. The Pool Bar often hosts visitors and locals daily. The Silhouette is a casual dining location, which is open for an hour. They offer afternoon tea as well as coffee, with a selection of crepes and cakes. The Bistro is the only restaurant for lunch dining open from 11:00am to 22:00pm. It is an a la carte restaurant with beach service. They have a children’s menu, vegetarian dishes, and main menu items.
Coral Strand Hotel offers a range of activities including excursions around Mahe Island. On most nights guests can enjoy local musicians that come to play folklore or international music. The hotel has a boutique with local arts and crafts for souvenirs. Diving and water sports are going to take visitors into another world on the Indian Ocean. The Dive Center provides tours and diving courses for those who have never gone before.
There are four tours available through the Coral Strand Hotel. Guests of the hotel can join a Mahe Island Tour in which culture, history, and nature can be a part of the experience. Landmarks near Victory such as local spice and art shops, Seychelle’s Big Beg and Seychelles settlements are all part of the tour. The excursion will bring you to Mission Lodge where ruins of a school still stand. Historically, it is a place where children of freed slaves went, but it is also going to offer panoramic views of the island. To the southwest on Mahe Island is The King’s Garden (Jardin du Roi).
Full Day Glass Bottom Boat Excursions allow you to discover Seychelles in a glass bottom boat. The Marine Parks provide tranquil scenery, along with the serenity of the ocean depths. Cruise in the Ste. Anne Marine National Park on a luxury boat for day excursions or overnight stops. Another tour is to Praslin and La Digue, where 7,000 inhabitants now live. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
