Climb Kili Campaign 2010
Join African Encounters, Ekukhanyeni and Africa Now Tourism Management as we climb to new heights! Our goal is to raise R300 000 for the Ekukhanyeni Early Childhood Development Program by running the Climb Kilimanjaro Challenge. Ekukhanyeni is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that focuses on community upliftment in two poverty stricken informal settlements close to Johannesburg. In partnership with the local communities, this project supports some 600 vulnerable children by creating self-sustaining communities through its green and holistic design approach to community development. Through its numerous sustainable technologies & lifestyles education, Ekukhanyeni is helping the adults in these impoverished zones to achieve & sustain food & nutrition security alongside providing effective early childhood care in ways which do not negatively affect natural resources. Climbing Kili is an experience that is definitely once in a life time. No matter what preparation you go through: summit night is in conflict of everything, body, mind and spirit. Walking in full moon, through a 10 hour blizzard is probably the most unforgettable and forgettable experience I've ever experienced. Do your homework and you will get through!
I just wanted to let you know what an awesome time we had in Zanzibar, and if you would pass our compliments on to 'African Encounters' and 'Exotic Tours' in Zanzibar for their assistance during our stay. They were brilliant, always on time, very helpful, so friendly, informative and totally reliable. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend them to your clients. We intend to travel to Kenya and tour other places in Africa and would definately use them again.
The Dhow Palace was clean, comfortable and perfectly situated for walking in Stone Town and Gemma D'ell est was just magnificent.
