Bamburi Beach Hotel is located on Bamburi Beach, about 12 km North of Mombasa and around 25 km away from Moi International.

 

Although a large hotel with some 150 rooms, the feel is more like a smaller hotel. They have built the place in a semi circle, facing out on to the ocean and around the 2 beautiful swimming pools. Recently, they have added a stunning wooden deck elevated above the beach, so if you do not feel like getting sand in all your stuff, you can still lie on their deck and face the ocean. Alternatively, guests have two massive swimming pools to relax nest to. One is located amongst all the palm trees at the front of the hotel and is the busiest of all. Alternatively, you could choose the quieter pool located towards the back of the property.

 If you are feeling that you have dragged your heals at the gym for the past couple of months and need a bit of a workout, the hotel has many activities to help correct that bit of laziness in you. They have 2 air conditioned squash courts, well equipped gymnasium and a fantastic beach for long early morning jogs. Bamburi Beach Hotel also has a full water sports centre and if you are keen to see what diving is all about, they grant a free dive ion the pool. The watersports centre includes windsurfing, snorkeling, coral reef garden safaris, glass bottomed boat, deep sea fishing, canoeing and peddle boating.

If you have children, the hotel has a children adventure centre which has a full time programme for children and includes TV shows, video shows, swimming in the adjacent baby pool, drawing and beach games.

Rooms Bamburi Beach

There are a total of 150 deluxe rooms all furnished in a modern Arabian Style. The rooms are located in three blocks set in three storey buildings. Only 8 of the rooms do not have a sea view, but they do face out on to the ocean. The rooms also include 20 interconnecting rooms for families. All rooms have either twin beds or a queen sized bed with a single bed. They can also accommodate and extra bed or baby cot.

Included in the bathrooms are a shower and WC. Hot water is provided by solar heating.

Dining

Bamburi offers guests 4 restaurants and 3 bars. Ziwani is the main restaurant which serves all catered meals for guests on bed and breakfast and half board options. They offer 3 theme nights per week which include a barbeque, fish night and African night. All other meals are served from the buffet.

The second restaurant is the Karibu Grill which specializes in meat and fish. This is a more casual restaurant located down at the pool. Most guests would enjoy lunch here. The other lunch restaurant is the Karibu Snack Bar, located next to Karibu Grill. They serve up snack type items such as sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and other light meals.

The flagship restaurant, Fishermans Cave, is located on the beachfront and specializes in sea food, continental and oriental cuisine. Guests who are on a HB or FB option will receive a 20% discount if they eat here.

As for bars, there are plenty cocktails to be had at any one of the 3 bars. The main bar is located in the central living area and is open 24 hours a day. They then also have the Ziwani Pool Bar and Karibu Bar, both open from 08:00 – 11:30pm.
