About Azanzi Beach Hotel

The island of Zanzibar is a beautiful place and begging to be discovered.  Guests who are looking for an intimate place to stay while visiting this paradise will enjoy the amenities the Azanzi Beach Hotel offers.  The hotel is located on the north east coast of the island about 45 minutes from the airport in Stone Town.  Considered a luxury boutique beach hotel, the Azanzi Beach Hotel offers guests plenty of activities to enjoy while they are on the island.  In addition to beautiful accommodations guests will enjoy the entertainment area with viewing decks of the Indian Ocean.

Zanzibar is actually a part of an archipelago off of Tanzania, Africa.  It has a long trading history and Stone Town is considered a world heritage site with plenty of historical attractions that appeal to the guests to the island.  The island has always been known for its spice trade and guests to the resort will love the spice tour.  Zanzibar is still referred to as the Spice Islands due to the large amount of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper that is still grown there.  In addition to the beautiful scenery and historical sites, Zanzibar is also the endemic home of the Zanzibar Red Colobus and the Zanzibar Leopard.

Guests should be aware that Zanzibar falls in the malaria area of Africa and that they should consult their doctor before visiting.  It is a good idea for guests to also be vaccinated against yellow fever and they should bring their vaccination certificate with them.

Rooms

Azanzi Beach Hotel offers guests the choice of 35 rooms.  There are eight suites, twelve luxury suites, nine villas and six deluxe villas.  All of the rooms come equipped with the following amenities: air conditioning; mini bars; tea and coffee making facilities; mosquito netting; hairdryers; king size beds; and en-suite bathrooms.

The standard suites come with a shower only in the bathroom.  The villas are all stand alone at the resort and feature a full en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower.  The deluxe villas have all of the same features as the standard villas except the rooms also include a Jacuzzi.

The luxury suites are perfect for families vacationing at the resort.  They have an interconnecting room for children accompanying their parents.  There are also luxury suites available that do not have the interconnecting room if guests prefer this set up.

Dining

There is a bar and restaurant at the resort for guests to enjoy that serves a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet of international and local dishes.

Activities

Guests who visit the Azanzi Beach Hotel can enjoy a wide variety of activities that will make their stay more enjoyable.  The hotel recently added ten galls bottom sea kayaks that guests can use to paddle along the coast line of Zanzibar.  Scuba diving and snorkelling are popular things to do considering the island is surrounded by a large coral reef.  Fishing of all styles is available as well as dhow sundowner cruises.

For those guests who do not do well on the water, the hotel offers many non-motorized activities, massages at the spa, and daily tours such as the Azanzi Spice Tour.  The resort also has a beautiful swimming pool for guests to use and access to the island’s white sand beaches.

The island of Zanzibar also offers guests a wide variety of activities and historical attractions to view.  There are many beaches with lagoons and coral reefs to explore as well as scuba diving in some of the best unexplored waters in the world.  The waters are filled with dolphins and guests can take dolphin spotting tours where they may even be able to swim with them.  Some of the historic sites include Stone Town, Jozani Forest, Mbweni Ruins, Mtonil Ruins, Kidichi Persian Baths and the Mruhubi Ruins.

Hi Farzanah,

Id like to thank you for the great service. My wife and I had an amazing honeymoon in Zanzibar.

The staff at Azanzi were great, the venue was stunning and the whole Zanzibar experience was thoroughly enjoyed by both of us.

We have nothing negative to report.

We will use your company again in future and will recommend both African Encounters and Azanzi to our friends and family.

Thanks again,

Azanzi

Dear Candis

Thank you for your mail. We had a really good time in Zanzibar. We thought the hotel was really good, comfortable and well run. The staff were most helpful and pleasant and although you had warned me that you had had feedback that there English was not so good....we did not find this to be a problem at all.
Zanzibar itself we found to be quite depressing....as soon as you were outside the confines of the hotel....real poverty and squalor. The taxi drivers and tour guides who were with you when away from the hotel, however were great and you did not feel unsafe at all.
It was a great trip so thank you for your suggestion of Azanzi. The dive centre was really good and well run and that it a real plus for the place.
Your service throughout was great.
Kind regards
Pauline McCarthy
