Ms

Hi there Candis (or should I say Jambo?)

Thank you so much and yes everything went totally fine – the holiday was absolutely marvellous and we have returned feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The service received from you was great and efficient and I have no complaints whatsoever and won’t hesitate to utilise African Encounters again in the future. We were delayed getting into Mombasa on the night of the 10th but when we arrived (and were hit by a very hot and humid wall) our driver was there to collect us and we delivered to the resort. The check-in staff were fabulous and explained how everything worked and where all amenities etc were located and we arrived to a beach BBQ and local entertainers down by the ocean which was rather special.

We booked a couple of tours through the ground handler in Kenya – the half day Mombasa old town tour and the Wasini island dhow trip – both were very interesting and both my fiancé and I enjoyed them immensely. I also thought that the tours we did were value for money and the staff in Kenya – drivers, tour guide etc – were all very friendly and efficient. We went snorkelling at the marine park off Wasini island and it was spectacular. It’s good to see that these countries have started taking the environment and the preservation of it seriously.

We would like to thank the staff at Leopard Beach Resort for their great service and attitude – there are many South Africans working in service related industries who could learn from these people. If you are planning on providing feedback to the resort then the following staff in particular can be thanked:

Raymond – porter who greeted us on arrival and welcomed us with a chilled cocktail. Each time we saw him during the week he’d take the time to come over and greet us and have a bit of a chat.
George, Zapporah, Matthews and Saidi in the Horizon restaurant – after the first couple of days we made sure that we sat in a section manned by one of these staff members as they were really sweet and friendly and in fact George taught me the ten words I now know in Swahili – Asante sana George. I must however point out that the fish we were offered in the resort for dinner on two occasions were not on the SASSI approved list (just an aside).

Thanks again Candis for all your assistance in this regard. I may be chatting to you again sometime soon as I really would like to go to Vic Falls at some stage.

Regards,
Lesley-Caren
